RUCAHUE IS A MAPUDUNGUN WORD -INDIAN DIALECT- THAT MEANS A SMALL GROUP OF HOMES FORMING A FAMILY COMMUNITY, WHICH SETTLED DOWN IN OUR COUNTRY IN THE PAST.

THIS INSPIRES US: TO MAKE WINE WITH FAMILY PASSION.

In 1980 the Esturillo family -Spanish immigrants- acquired a property in the southwest of the Maule Valley named Fundo Las Cañas. Huge field of virgin territory, possessing a truly unique spot with indescribable potential for the production of wine grapes. Since then, the idea of ​​planting high quality vines to obtain excellent wines began, a task that the Zaror Esturillo family continued.

Since then, the bulk and bottled wine business have been developed in these lands. The family actively works in all the process of wine production to pass this precious family heritage.

In the Maule Valley, our Las Cañas field has an area of ​​900 hectares bordering the Loncomilla river with loamy-sandy characteristics, along with a privileged climate in central Chile that cares for decades-old vines that grow high-quality grapes and maturing captivating wines.Las Cañas also has our cellar with a capacity of 5MM liters and a modern production room with two complete lines that allow us to manufacture millions of bottles to the world. Finally, a beautiful family house built in 1940 in pure Chilean style which consolidates the essence and our determination to make meaningful wine year by year.

Our Larqui field is located in the heart of the Itata River Valley, a magical place where the influence of the Andes and the ocean are combined, generating optimal climatic conditions for the development of luxury vines which absorbed granitic wealth of the millennia-old lands that allows to create fine, authentic and elegant wines. Larqui is a vineyard with very low productivity for keeping the highest quality grapes. Self-sow method is applied in order to avoid artificial influence as little as possible and keep the groth condition null. Each harvest is done by hand with trays of 12 kg to guarantee the quality, and the grapes are sent to a separate warehouse with small ponds,  to de-stem and press manually.
