Symphony is a white grape varietal created in 1948 by the late Dr. Harold Olmo, a viticulture professor at University of California, Davis. It is a cross between Grenache Gris and Muscat of Alexandria grapes. The Symphony grape varietal is famous for its unique aromatic fruit flavor profiles, which includes hints of tropical fruits, flowers, peach, apricot, and pear. It is known for producing wine with a great floral aroma, similar to Gewürztraminer or Muscat. The wine made from this varietal is predominantly off-dry or sweet, with moderate acidity and a smooth, crisp finish. Used on its own or blended with other wines, Symphony adds an exotic and unique fruitiness to any wine.
