Bourboulenc is a white wine grape variety grown primarily in the southern Rhône wine region of France. It is most often blended with other varietals and contributes high acidity and mineral flavors to the blend. The grapes produce a medium-bodied wine with citrus, herbal, and floral notes, and hints of spice. They have a late ripening cycle, allowing for a longer hang-time, and are usually harvested in October. The wine is often golden in color with good richness and body. It can age well and often develops a honeyed richness with time. However, the Bourboulenc is not so common as a single varietal wine and more typically found as part of a blend.
