Queensland

Queensland is the second-largest state in Australia. It is located on the northeastern part of the country and is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia, and New South Wales. It also has the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean to its east. Queensland covers an area of over 1.8 million square kilometers and has a population of approximately 5.1 million people. Its capital and largest city is Brisbane.

Known as the "Sunshine State", Queensland is well known for its warm, tropical climate. This state is also host to multiple magnificent landscapes, including rainforests, sandy beaches, and outback areas. The world's largest coral reef system, the Great Barrier Reef, is located off the coast of Queensland.

The state is a major tourism hub with popular attractions such as the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, the Whitsundays, and numerous national parks and wildlife reserves. Apart from tourism, the state's economy is also supported by sectors like agriculture, mining, and education.

Queensland boasts unique native plants and animals, with a vast number of bird, mammal, and reptile species. The state's rich indigenous culture is another aspect that adds to its charm. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Queensland have a strong cultural presence in the state.

In terms of governance, like other states in Australia, Queensland has its state government and is also part of the federal structure of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Head of the State is the Monarch of the United Kingdom, who is represented by a governor in Queensland. The state's parliament is unicameral, unlike other Australian states.
