Port

A port can refer to several things in the world of electronics and computing:

1) Physical Port: This is a specific point for connection between different types of electronic devices, usually computers and peripherals. Examples include USB ports, HDMI ports, Ethernet ports, and VGA ports.

2) Network Port: In networking, a port is a communication endpoint. It’s the way a client program specifies a particular server program on a particular machine. Ports are identified for each protocol and address combination by 16-bit unsigned numbers, commonly known as the port number.

3) Software/Computer Programming Port: In software field, porting is the process of adapting software so that an application or a system can work in a different environment like different operating system, architecture, or hardware.

4) Maritime Port: In maritime terms, a port is a facility on the coast, river, or lake for ships to dock and transfer people or cargo to or from land.
