Biferno is a river in south-central Italy. Named after the ancient Roman name "Tifernus", it rises in the mountains of Samnium near Bojano and flows into the Adriatic Sea near Termoli after a course of 120 kilometers. The main affluents are the Tammaro River, the Saccione, and the Torrente Guardialfiera. It's the primary river in the region of Molise. The river's wildlife, including various species of fish and invertebrates, make it an important ecological area. There is also a programming language named "Biferno", which is a scriptable, object-oriented language designed for creating complex web applications.
