Orta Nova is a small town and commune located in the Apulia region of southeast Italy. With a population of just over 14,000, it is part of the province of Foggia.
The area is primarily agricultural, with the production of wine, olives and tomatoes being the town's main industries. The area around Orta Nova is flat and fertile, part of the Tavoliere delle Puglie.
Orta Nova has a Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers. The area gets most of its rainfall in autumn and winter, while spring is short and mild.
The town itself is home to a few noteworthy landmarks, including the early 20th-century Church of San Francisco and the remains of the medieval Castle of Orta Nova.
