Fronsac is a small wine-producing region located within Bordeaux in southwestern France. Renowned for its full-bodied red wines, Fronsac is highly regarded for its hillside vineyards which benefit from south-facing exposure, making them ideal for grape growing. The wines produced in Fronsac are generally Merlot-based with a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. These wines are acclaimed for their solid structure, smooth tannins, and rich flavors of dark fruits, making them perfect for aging. The region itself takes its name from the town of Fronsac, which is steeped in history dating back to Roman times. Today, it retains its historical charm amidst the bustle of the modern wine industry.
