The Aleatico varietal is a red wine grape that is primarily grown in Italy. It is known for producing wines that are sweet, aromatic, and full-bodied. The grapes have a thick skin and are typically used to make dessert wines or fortified wines. Aleatico wines often have flavors of ripe red fruits, floral notes, and sometimes a hint of spice. In Chile is known as Red Moscatel. The grape has also been cultivated at Mudgee in New South Wales and California.
