An outstanding viticultural area within the valley is the Columbia Gorge AVA. This is where the Columbia river meets the amazing geography of the Pacific NorthWest. They are located above 45 degrees latitude with a climate similar to that of burgundy france, allowing for some great wines to be made close to home.
