Saddleback Cellars

Saddleback Cellars was founded in the heart of Napa Valley by acclaimed winemaker Nils Venge. Nils got his start in Napa in 1970, and has been creating award-winning wines at Saddleback since 1981. Known as the "King of Cab," he is the first American to achieve a 100-point score from wine critic extraordinaire Robert Parker Jr. for his production on a 1985 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon. 

Saddleback sits on quiet Money Road, a dead-end lane in the Oakville District of the Napa Valley AVA, a region renown for its quality Cabernet Sauvignon. While our first love is Cabernet, Saddleback produces a variety of wonderful varietals and blends both from our estate vineyard here on property and from the best vines around the valley. Some of these include Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Zinfandel – and even smaller lots, made especially for our Posse Wine Club, which include: Albarino, Vermentino, Sangiovese, Charbono, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to name of few.
