Kapitel Zwei Wine

Kapitel Zwei or “Chapter Two” is an experiment to grow French grape varietals and age them in 55 liter Italian amphora in Krems, Austria. 

The grapes will be handpicked and sustainably grown on a single vineyards or “ried” that was abandoned more than a decade ago called Kremsleithen and a smaller ried called Limberg.

Kremsleithen is derived from the steep slope (“Leiten” in German) that runs down to the river Krems. 

It was first mentioned in records dating back to 1266 and is located at 300 meters above sea level and composed of loamy, sandy soil .
