The Xynisteri varietal is a type of white grape mainly grown in Cyprus. Wines produced from this grape variety are often light-bodied with moderate acidity, offering fresh and bright flavors of green apples, citrus fruits, and subtle floral notes. Because of its relatively high yields and adaptability to the warm Mediterranean climate, Xynisteri is one of the most widely grown grapes in Cyprus. It is typically used to produce dry, still white wines, although it is also used in blends and for the production of the traditional Cypriot dessert wine known as Commandaria.
