Soave is a dry white wine from the Veneto region in northeastern Italy, particularly known for its delicate flavors of pear, pineapple, and notes of almond. Produced primarily from the Garganega grape, it can also include percentages of Trebbiano and Chardonnay. Soave wines are generally light-bodied, crisp and high in acidity, with a bright straw yellow color. There are also rich, full-bodied versions produced from Garganega grapes that undergo a drying process, resulting in a more concentrated, complex wine, often with a honeyed and nutty flavor after aging. Soave wines are best served chilled and pair well with seafood, chicken, and vegetable dishes.
