Athiri

Athiri is a white grape variety that is indigenous to Greece. It’s primarily grown in the islands of Rhodes and Santorini but also can be found in other regions of Greece. It’s often used in blends and produces light-bodied wines that are moderately aromatic, with notes of citrus, floral and stone fruits like peach. Wines made from Athiri tend to have low to medium acidity and alcohol content. Athiri is also used to make dessert wines and in the production of Retsina, a traditional Greek wine.
