The Bridge Pa Triangle is a renowned wine district region in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. It is a geographical designation covering around 2,000 hectares on the western side of the Heretaunga Plains. Named after Bridge Pa, a nearby town, the "triangle" is signified by three roads including Ngatarawa Road, State Highway 50 and Maraekakaho Road.
This area has a warm, dry climate and different types of soil including ancient riverbeds, clay loam and free-draining gravels, making it an ideal place for vineyards. It's particularly suited for the production of high-quality Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District has over ten wineries, ranging from some of New Zealand’s largest wine companies to small boutique producers. These wineries have been producing award-winning wines for many years, especially red wines that have received international recognition.
Despite being an area known for viticulture, the district also has equestrian activities, orchards, olive groves and small rural settlements, making it a fascinating place to explore.
