Chablais is a historical region and is a part of the Alps which stretches between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc in Switzerland and France. The region has been divided into two parts: the Chablais Savoyard (French Chablais) and the Chablais Valasian (Swiss Chablais).
Chablais Savoyard is known for its beautiful ski resorts like Avoriaz, Les Gets, and Morzine, while Chablais Valasian comprises the lower Valais and parts of Vaud Canton, including popular ski resort and thermal spa town, Leysin. It also includes the Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest in the world.
The area is steeped in history, with several churches and chapels dating back to the Middle Ages. Moreover, it is known for its production of the AOC-designated wine, as vineyards are found throughout the region.
Chablais also offers breathtaking views of mountains, lakes, and lush green valleys, making it a favorite destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and water sports. The region rated as a UNESCO Global Geopark due to its geological significance featuring a range of diverse landscapes and a rich variety of flora and fauna.
