Contea di Sclafani is a denomination of Sicilian wines from the region of Sicily in Italy. The title, translated to "County of Sclafani," was established in 2001. The area covers a large portion of central Sicily, stretching across the provinces of Palermo, Caltanissetta, and Agrigento.
The terroir in the area is diverse, with vineyards alternating between coastal and inland, as well as, low-lying and mountainous, which impacts the character and quality of the wines. It's renowned for its wide range of grape varieties. This offer includes both red and white wines, which can be made as varietals or blends. The key red grape varieties include Nero d'Avola, Perricone, and Nerello Mascalese, while the principal white grape varieties include Catarratto, Inzolia, and Grecanico.
