Colli Ericini is a nature reserve, located in Trapani, Sicily, Italy. Spread over an area of around 1,779.85 hectares, the reserve was established in 1997. It is named after the town of Erice, located at the top of Mount Erice which lies within the territory of the reserve.
The region is enriched with various types of flora and fauna. The forest includes trees like walnut, ash, and almond, as well along with various types of shrubs and flowers. The fauna in the region comprises mammals like rabbits, foxes, and weasels, and various species of birds like hawks, owls, and finches.
The Monti di Trapani area within the reserve is known for its mineral resources, including limestone and marble, while its hills are covered with Mediterranean vegetation. Besides nature lovers, the reserve also attracts history enthusiasts for its historical remnants like the Elymian city walls, necropolis, and ancient churches.
There are also several walking and hiking paths through the reserve offering breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. The most popular of these is the path that leads to the town of Erice, a historic town known for its medieval architecture.
