Romangia is a historical region and sub-region in the north of Sardinia, Italy. It includes parts of the provinces of Sassari and Olbia-Tempio. It is the heart of Vermentino wine production and is also known for its Mediterranean climate, agricultural and pastoral activities. Given the physical and geological characteristics of the territory, agricultural cultivation (especially of olive trees and vines) has always played a primary role in the economy of this region.
The region is rich with historical and archaeological sites preserving traces of the pre-Nuraghic, Nuraghic, Phoenician, Punic, and Roman periods. Traditional activities such as cork processing, handicrafts with particular reference to basket weaving, and the pastoral sector are also an integral part of the region's cultural heritage.
Romangia is also characterized by the presence of several small towns and villages that maintain their medieval appearance intact, including Nulvi, Martis, and Bulzi. The architecture and culture have a deep-rooted historical blend reflecting the ancient civilizations that inhabited this region.
