Frascati is a small town and commune in the Metropolitan City of Rome, located in the Lazio region of Central Italy. It is known for its historic villies, scenic beauty, and world-renowned white wine.
The town is situated approximately 20 kilometers south-east of Rome, on the Alban Hills close to the ancient city of Tusculum. Frascati is closely associated with science, being the location of several international scientific laboratories, such as the European Space Agency's ESA Centre for Earth Observation and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics.
Frascati also has a rich historical and architectural heritage. Notable sites include the 16th century Villa Aldobrandini, the Cathedral of San Pietro Apostolo, and several other ancient villies such as Villa Torlonia and Villa Falconieri.
