Modena or Provincia di Modena

Modena, also known as Provincia di Modena, is a province in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It is surrounded by the provinces of Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Parma, Ferrara, and Mantua, and its capital city is also called Modena. It stretches from the Po River in the north to the Apennine Mountains in the south, covering a total area of around 2,689 square kilometers.

The province is known for its rich history and vibrant culture. It boasts a number of interesting landmarks including the Cathedral of Modena, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as various churches, museums, and palaces. Modena is also world-renowned for its balsamic vinegar, and is a major hub for car manufacturing, as the Ferrari and Maserati companies are headquartered there.

The economy of Modena is heavily reliant on the agricultural, industrial, and service sectors. Apart from its famous vinegar, the province also produces other agricultural products like wine and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. The province's population as of 2021 is approximately 709,000, with most residents living in the city of Modena. The local people, known as Modenese, are warm and friendly, and Italian is the most commonly spoken language, although the local Emilian-Romagnol language is also used.
