Sant'Anna di Isola Capo Rizzuto is a small rural settlement located in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It's part of the larger Isola di Capo Rizzuto municipality which is spread across the Ionian Sea coastline.
The town is particularly known for the Sanctuary of Sant'Anna, a popular place of worship that attracts devotees from all over the region. The sanctuary is dedicated to Saint Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, and every year on her feast day (July 26), a large celebration is held which includes a procession through the streets.
The region is also known for its stunning natural beauty, featuring a mix of pristine beaches, dramatic cliffs and fascinating archeological sites. It's also part of the larger protected area called the Marine Protected Area of Capo Rizzuto, which is one of the largest marine reserves in Italy.
The local economy is mainly based on tourism, agriculture and fishing. The region is famous for its excellent olive oil and wine production. Despite its small size, Sant'Anna di Isola Capo Rizzuto offers a glimpse into the authentic Italian rural lifestyle, away from the hustle and bustle of the country's more touristy locations.
