Colline Teatine is a geographical area and wine region located in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. It more specifically refers to the hilly area surrounding the city of Chieti, which was once known as Teate in ancient times, thus the name ‘Teatine.’
This area, with its typical Mediterranean climate, diversified terrains, and calcareous soils, is highly suitable for viticulture. Although it was originally known for producing bulk wines, Colline Teatine has gained recognition in recent years for its quality wine production. It includes a large number of vineyards growing mainly Montepulciano and Trebbiano grape varieties, which are used for the production of the area's renowned red and white wines respectively.
