Côtes de Saint-Mont is a wine-growing region in Southwestern France. It is located in the department of Gers which falls within the broader Gascony region. This region enjoys a warm maritime climate and the vineyards are situated on sloping hillsides, which provide great sun exposure facilitating optimum grape ripening.
The Côtes de Saint-Mont gained its Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) status in 1981 and it is known for producing red, white and rosé wines. The appellation specializes in traditional local grape varieties such as Tannat, Pinenc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon for red and rosé wines and Arrufiac, Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu for the whites.
