Coteaux du Vendômois is a wine-growing district in the Loir-et-Cher département of the Loire Valley wine region in France. It has been classified as Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) since 2001, which represents the strictest classification level of French wine and indicates the highest recognition of quality.
This region is renowned for its red, white, and rosé wines. The main grape types grown here include Pineau d'Aunis, Chenin Blanc, and Cabernet Franc. The Pineau d'Aunis grape is particularly dominant, which is used to produce the region's famous rosé wine known as "Pineau d'Aunis".
The Coteaux du Vendômois region enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, making it similar to the neighboring regions of Anjou and Touraine. The soils here vary, but are typically comprised of clay, limestone, and tufa, contributing to the unique flavors of the wines produced in this region.
