Richebourg is a Grand Cru appellation and one of the top vineyards in the Burgundy wine region in eastern France. The name "Richebourg" comes from "Rich hill" and indeed it is one of the most exceptional and prestigious appellations in Burgundy.
The vineyard, which stretches over about 8 hectares, is known for producing some of the world's most expensive and sought-after wines. The wines from Richebourg are exclusively red, made from the Pinot Noir grape variety.
Richebourg wines are highly praised for their complexity, depth, and longevity. They have distinctive aromas of red and black fruits, spices, and gamey flavors, as well as a full-bodied, robust, and well-structured taste. These wines are generally very well balanced with a great aging potential.
Richebourg is produced by several top Burgundy wine producers, including Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leroy, and Anne Gros. Due to the quality and limited production of the wine, bottles of Richebourg are often very expensive, making them a true wine collector's item.
