Mazoyères-Chambertin is a red wine Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy in Eastern France. Here, only Pinot Noir is allowed to be grown. The appellation covers a land area of around 9 hectares and is contiguous with the better-known appellation Charmes-Chambertin.
The wines made from Mazoyères-Chambertin are known for their rich color, elegant bouquet, and robustness. These wines showcase intense flavors, including black cherry, blackcurrant, violet, and licorice, with aging potential of up to 15 years. As a Grand Cru appellation, Mazoyères-Chambertin wines are of the highest quality, embodying the terroir's expression.
The vineyards of Mazoyères-Chambertin are situated on the lower slopes of the Côte d'Or, which provides excellent exposure to the sun, essential for the ripening of Pinot Noir grapes. The soil composition is mainly limestone and clay, which is reflected in the minerality of the wines.
