Bonnes-Mares is a Grand Cru vineyard located in the Côte de Nuits region of France's famous Burgundy wine region. The vineyard spans 37 acres and is split between the villages of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. Wines from Bonnes-Mares are exclusively red, produced from Pinot Noir grapes. It is one of the region's most prestigious vineyards and its full-bodied wines are renowned for their intense dark fruit aromas, earthy undertones, and excellent aging potential. The name "Bonnes-Mares" refers to "good seas", a reflection of the vineyard's ancient marlstone and limestone soils that were originally under a sea millions of years ago.
