Dry Creek Valley is a wine region in Northern California's Sonoma County, well-known for its impressive Zinfandel - its signature wine, as well as its Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a long history in viticulture, beginning in the 19th century with Italian immigrants.
Occupying approximately 9,000 acres, Dry Creek Valley is surrounded by two mountain ranges: the Mayacamas to the east and the Coastal Range to the west. The valley has a variety of microclimates influenced by the Pacific Ocean, making it suitable for growing diverse grape varieties.
Despite the name, Dry Creek Valley is vibrantly lush with acres of vineyards that are interspersed with a variety of other agriculture and bordered by beautiful hills and trees.
The region is home to over 70 wineries, many of them family-owned and operated, creating a strong sense of community and tradition. Dry Creek Valley is not only acclaimed for its wines, but also for its idyllic beauty, breathtaking vineyard landscapes, and warm hospitality.
Dry Creek Valley also hosts the annual Dry Creek Valley Passport, a weekend festival where local wineries offer tastings and food pairings, as well as live music and special vineyard tours. It's a beloved event for both residents and tourists, reflecting the vibrant and inviting spirit of this wine region.
