Atlas Peak is a mountain located in Napa County, California. It is the most prominent peak in the area and is known for its high-end vineyards and wineries. The mountain sits within the Vaca Range, separating Napa Valley from the Sacramento Valley to the east. Its elevation is approximately 2,663 feet.
Atlas Peak's vineyards are considered part of the Atlas Peak American Viticultural Area (AVA), a designated wine grape-growing region in Napa Valley. The region is notable for its volcanic soils, high altitudes, cool breezes, and varying microclimates, making it an optimal terrain for producing high-quality grapes, specifically, the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.
The area has also become a renowned destination for wine lovers due to its exquisite wineries that offer wine tastings, tours, and spectacular views of the Napa Valley.
In 2017, it was affected by the North Bay fires, causing considerable damage to several wineries and vineyards in the area. Since then, the community has made significant efforts to recover and rebuild.
