Covelo is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mendocino County, California, United States. It is located in the northern part of the state, approximately 170 miles north of San Francisco. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,255, a slight increase from 1,175 in 2000. The town covers an area of 7.1 square miles.
Covelo is known for its rich Indigenous history and is home to the Round Valley Indian Reservation. This reservation is a hub for several tribes including the Yuki, Pomo, Concow, Little Lake and other tribes.
