Kelsey Bench-Lake County is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in Lake County, California. The AVA is located to the northwest of the Clear Lake, the largest freshwater lake entirely in the state of California. The area is known for its volcanic, rocky soils and Mediterranean climate, cool wet winters, and hot dry summers, conditions that are ideal for growing high-quality grapes. Kelsey Bench-Lake County is known for producing diverse varieties of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. The area was officially designated as an AVA in 2013 and is seen as a significant component of Lake County's flourishing wine industry.
