Guenoc Valley is located in Lake County, Northern California, USA. It spans over 23,000 acres, embellished with diverse terrain ranging from rich valley loam to rocky terrain and expansive woodlands. The valley is predominantly recognized for its vineyards and high-quality winemaking culture, comprising some of the oldest vineyards in California.
Guenoc Valley is a recognized American Viticulture Area (AVA). Historically, the valley was inhabited by the native tribe, the Wappo during the Spanish colonial period. They named the area Guenoc (pronounced “Green-oak”), which is a native term for “Lily”.
The entire area of Guenoc Valley is owned by a single entity, making it one of the few California wine regions to demonstrate such ownership. It is currently under the ownership of the Langtry Estate, which operates a winery and produces wines that have gained international acclaim.
