The Rose varietal isn't exactly a distinct type of flower nor is it a particular grape variant as many might think, but rather a method of wine production. Rosé wine can be made from almost any type of red wine grape. The production process involves minimal contact with the grape skins, allowing the juice to absorb some of the color but not enough to classify the wine as red. This method gives Rosé wines their signature pink hue. The taste can range from sweet to dry, and the wine is often characterized by fruity, floral, and sometimes spicy notes.
If we talk about roses in terms of flowers, however, the Rose varietal refers to the different types of roses available. There are hybrid teas, landscape roses, miniatures, floribundas, grandifloras, and many more. These types vary in growth habit, flower formation, size, color, and care requirements.
