Léon Millot is a grape varietal that is used to produce wine. It is a hybrid variety, created in 1911 by viticulturist Eugene Kuhlmann by crossing the hybrid grape Millardet et Grasset 101-14 with Goldriesling, a Vitis vinifera variety.
The Léon Millot grape is most commonly grown in the cooler climates of North America and Europe, including regions of France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and the Northeastern United States.
Wines made from Léon Millot grapes are typically characterized by their deep color, early ripening, and high resistance to fungal diseases. They are often medium-bodied, well-balanced, and express notes of berry fruit, cherry, and spice. Aromas can be quite rich, offering scents of blackberry, plum, and sometimes even chocolate.
In terms of food pairing, Léon Millot wine pairs well with hearty meats, stews, and dishes with a lot of spices. They may also be enjoyed with cheese and gamey meats.
