The Ridge North Lilydale

Hello.  We’re a couple of Tasmanians: we produce sparkling and table pinot noir and chardonnay from our single estate vineyard in Tasmania.

He is from Burnie and She is from North Lilydale.  We lived in Queensland for 30 years or so, then came home. To North Lilydale. 

And planted a vineyard! After preparing the soil for 4 years. Not just any vineyard.  We believe its about the highest above sea level in Tassie, at the headwaters of the Pipers River, under Mt. Arthur – so it’s pretty coooool! Which is how you want a vineyard to be, when you are intent on producing pinot noir and chardonnay, sparkling and still wines, which represent the best of being Tasmanian. So cool site =  long/slow growing fruit – holding firm acidity at harvest, grounding good bottle age and development. 

Hard work, very long hours – what could possibly go wrong with that for a retirement plan??

Very rewarding, to go from soil prep through planting to just completed our 5th vintage, collecting Best Small Vineyard award from the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania along the way.

A secluded, niche vineyard, in a little world of its own!
