McFadden Farm Stand and Tasting Room

Guinness McFadden planted the first wine grapes in Potter Valley in 1970, and has run a family farm, growing organically, from day one - over 40 years! McFadden Farm has a hydroelectric plant and an array of solar panels, and producing over half the energy needed for all of Potter valley, McFadden would need a rear view mirror to see carbon neutrality. After decades selling premium grapes to wineries like Mondavi, Sterling, and Chateau Montelena, seeing wines made from McFadden grapes win competition medals and high ratings, the first McFadden wine made from our own grapes was produced in 2005.

In 2008, the McFadden Farm Stand and Tasting Room was opened in Hopland. Today, we continue to grow as more and more consumers come to appreciate that incredibly delicious wines, made from family farmed and certified organic grapes, can be purchased affordably - and in the same spot where grass fed beef, jars of herbs and herb blends, braids of premium garlic, and boxes of 100% pure wild rice can be picked up. Many fans of Mcfadden choose to join a special McFadden wine club that includes farm fare with their wine selections for shipment.
