Big Basin Vineyards Estate Winery
Bar none, the best way to experience Big Basin Vineyards is to venture deep into the Santa Cruz Mountains to the geographic center to one of the oldest grape growing and winemaking locations in the region. Not a drive for the faint of heart, but rewards wine passionate individuals who want to really understand our organic farming and minimalist winemaking practices.
Your visit includes a vineyard hike and wine tasting at the winery. They don’t have a fancy tasting room facility, chances are they will stand around a barrel to taste and talk wine. They highly encourage you to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring a picnic and enjoy it at Big Basin Redwood State Park only 10 minutes away.
This is truly one of the most unique outings in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Because they are a very small team, winery visits are only available by special arrangement. Please email them to inquire their availability. Sometimes short notice works great.
Open Saturdays June-September 12pm-5pm
