The Groundhog Region is not a specific geographical location that can be found on a map. The term could perhaps be in reference to areas inhabited by groundhogs, animals that are native to North America and belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots.
Groundhogs, also known as woodchucks, are mostly found in the northeast and central regions of North America. They are most common in the United States and spread into Canada and parts of Alaska. Groundhogs habitat includes meadows, pastures, and woodland edges where they dig burrows.
The regions inhabited by groundhogs, alternately called "Groundhog Regions", have temperate weather with warm summers and cold winters, and are packed with low vegetation for groundhogs to feed on.
Please note that reference to a specific "Groundhog Region" could also be synonymous with Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, where the annual Groundhog Day event is famously held with their resident groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil.
