Finca Élez is a Spanish wine region located in eastern La Mancha, Spain. This location is highly elevated, ranging between 1080-1180 meters above sea level, and has a continental climate, leading to the creation of complex, unique wines.
The area was designated a Vino de Pago, Spain's top-level appellation for quality wine, in 2002. This signifies the highest quality level in Spanish wine regulations and is reserved for estates with a specific microclimate and terroir.
Finca Élez covers a total of 315 hectares, of which about 40 hectares are under vine cultivation. The soil here is chalky-clay, mixed with granite and quartz. This region is also the home of the Bodegas Manuel Manzaneque winery, which is noted for its production of critically acclaimed wines. This type of wine is produced in three specific Basque regions and Arabako Txakolina-Txakolí de Álava is one of them. The other two being "Bizkaiko Txakolina" from Biscay province and "Getariako Txakolina" from Gipuzkoa province.
Arabako Txakolina-Txakolí de Álava is typically a young, fruity wine made predominantly from the indigenous white grape varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia. It is light-bodied with a slight sparkle and tart, refreshing acidity - traditionally served as an aperitif. This characteristic of slight sparkling has given it the name of Basque Cider.
The wine has a Denomination of Origin status that was achieved in the year 2001, ensuring the wine's unique character and high-quality standards. In addition to the traditional white variety, rose and red versions of Arabako Txakolina-Txakolí de Álava are also produced, although they are less common. Sloughhouse is a small unincorporated community located in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is notably recognized as being on the Jackson Road, between Rancho Murieta and Ione, from Sacramento. The community is situated in a rural area that offers vast agricultural lands and open spaces.
