Description

At a distance of just 60 km from the bustling metropolis of Athens hides one of the most beautiful corners of Greece. On the wavy slopes of Geraneia, time seems to have stopped in antiquity. The vineyards have been cultivated here since 1,000 BC, as the climatic conditions and the morphology of the soil are ideal. The area got its name from Megarea, the son of Oinoi, whose own name connects it with wine, wine.

Today in Megara, on the sunny slopes between the bays of Salamis and Corinth, surrounded by tall pines and old olive groves, in an area of about 12 hectares, the vineyards of Eva-Maria Boehme and Harry Antoniou are lined up harmoniously. They are separated by small paths that grow rosemary and lavender at the ends, colorful roses and fragrant mimosas, lychee almond trees and pomegranates.

In addition to the main building, which houses the modern winery, Eva-Maria Boehme and Haris Antoniou are gradually transforming a series of old, abandoned winepresses into small guesthouses, architecturally combining tradition with modern comfort. In the small church of Agios Charalambos, the interior of which was edited by the Greek hagiographers Lydia and Fotis Sarris, the owners thank God for the good crops.

The outdoor area in front of the church, made of natural stone and decorated with images in the alcove of the Bank offers space for up to 150 guests for various events.
